FAMTERMOL 32 / 100
DIN 51 522; ISO 6743-12; ISO L-QA/QC
Famtermol is a range of mineral-based heat transfer oils available in ISO viscosity grades 32 and 100, designed for use as thermal fluids in closed-loop indirect heating systems across a wide variety of industrial applications. These thermal oils serve as the medium for transferring heat from a heat source to the process equipment, providing precise and controllable temperature management.
Famtermol is used in heating systems throughout diverse industrial sectors including rubber production, plastics manufacturing, asphalt plants, chemical processing, pharmaceutical production, textile manufacturing, drying systems, food processing, and many other thermal process applications. Heat transfer oil systems offer significant advantages over steam-based heating, including operation at lower system pressures, simpler equipment design, and more precise temperature control.
The mineral base oil formulation is carefully selected for thermal stability, resisting oxidation and thermal cracking at sustained high operating temperatures. Good thermal stability extends oil service life and prevents the formation of sludge, carbon deposits, and acidic byproducts that can foul heat exchanger surfaces, reduce heat transfer efficiency, and corrode system components.
The two viscosity grades serve different system designs: ISO 32 for systems requiring lower viscosity for optimal pumpability and heat transfer coefficient, and ISO 100 for systems designed for higher-viscosity fluids. An important operational consideration is that thermal oil expands approximately 20% in volume when heated from room temperature to 300°C; system design must accommodate this expansion to prevent overpressure. Famtermol is a proven, reliable thermal fluid choice for industrial heating systems where consistent heat transfer performance and long service life are required.
